Connect with nature for a boost to wellbeing

Spending time in nature and green spaces can relieve stress and anxiety with people reporting to feel much happier and healthier following an activity outdoors.

In response to the recent coronavirus outbreak, and for those staying at home, The Wildlife Trusts has issued some simple tips and ideas to keep active while looking after yourself and wildlife.

From building a hedgehog home or making your own compost to creating a mini nature reserve or building a bird feeder, The Wildlife Trusts website has lots of resources, activity sheets and simple to follow guides.  You can also share your creations on social media using #everydaywildlife to show how you have been supporting wildlife where you are.

There’s also information on where to find your local nature reserve and ideas for places to unwind and take in the fresh air away from crowds.  As well as green spaces, you can also watch nature in action with puffins, osprey, barn owls, badgers and more available to enjoy via webcam.
