Trentham Monkey Forest in Staffordshire is set to reopen to the public on 15th February following a short winter break – just in time for the half term holiday.
This will be a special year for the Monkey Forest as the popular attraction celebrates 15 years in 2020 with a birthday party to be held on 19th July.
Trentham Monkey Forest is home to 140 Barbary macaques who live freely within a 60-acre forest – a setting similar to their natural habitat in Morocco. Visitors can watch the monkeys at very close quarters, on the ground and in the trees around them, with no need for bars or cages.
Over 3 million people have visited Monkey Forest since opening in 2005, helping raise awareness for wild Barbary macaques whose numbers have dropped 50% in just 30 years. Monkey Forest has also celebrated the arrival of 90 macaque babies over the years, and is actively working towards the conservation of this endangered species.
Monkey Forest is open every day from 10am to 5pm. To find out more visit www.monkey-forest.com
