Belfast Zoological Gardens is one of the oldest visitor attractions in Northern Ireland, and has been home to animals since 1934.
Over 150 species of animal now reside there including Asian elephants and Rothschild giraffe, Western lowland gorillas and chimpanzees, and Barbary lions and Sumatran tigers. The zoo celebrated the birth of Baako, the first baby gorilla to be born at the attraction for 16 years, in 2013.
Celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2014, the zoo is developing a new playground with seven interactive play areas, providing learning opportunities and animal sculptures that link to the creatures in the zoo.
