Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire has over 80 species of wild animal roaming across 300 acres.
New attractions include Sea Lion Cove – an indoor sea lion pool with a high-tech 3D cinema screen; you can go behind the scenes with Safari Park Adventure in 3D or experience undersea adventures with Deepo 3D. Youngsters can take on the new Treetops Action Trail and the Mammoth Play Ark is one of Bedfordshire’s biggest soft play centres.
Rhinos, elephants, bears and tigers are amongst the animals to be spotted on a safari drive, and there is a full programme of keeper talks and demonstrations.
Desert Springs is a walk through enclosure with meerkats, mongoose and porcupines, or visit the Deer Stop on the Great Woburn Railway and learn all about the Woburn deer herds
2013 saw breeding success for the park when three Somali Wild Ass foals were born, helping this critically endangered species, which only have an estimated 280 to 300 left in the wild. The park has a long history of species conservation, and was established by the 13th Duke of Bedford in the grounds of Woburn Abbey, opening in 1970.
