Indian subcontinent specialists Cox & Kings have launched a new tour focused on the wildlife of Madhya Pradesh – the area that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. With the new live-action Jungle Book movie soon to be released in April, starring the voices of Bill Murray, Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson, they are predicting interest in the region to rise.
The new itinerary, The Jungle Book: Wildlife of India is a 13 day / 11 night private tour priced from £3,745 per person twin share. Beginning in Delhi, the itinerary then visits the unmissable Taj Mahal before heading into the heart of India in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Stopping at three national parks in Madya Pradesh – Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Pench – travellers stay in luxurious Taj lodges with wildlife safaris included. Accompanied by naturalists, clients can track the real life Shere Khan (tiger), Baloo (sloth bear) and Tabaqui (jackal). The tour ends in Mumbai, birthplace of Rudyard Kipling and where he spent the first five years of his life.
