Discover the winter feeding frenzy trail at WWT London Wetland Centre

Winter is one of the best seasons to visit WWT London Wetland Centre as some of the UK’s most attractive birds can be spotted. While it’s easy to spot the ducks in their beautiful plumage, there are also plenty of other birds who spend the winter here – some of which need a little bit of help every now and again to make it through the winter.

Feeding birds can be a fascinating activity for all ages. The number and the types of birds in an area are influenced by the sort of food you put out and the different types of feeders you use.  For instance, Goldfinches like seeds, Siskin’s especially like the seeds of alders and birch trees and Waxwings eat berries.

During the Christmas holidays, come and enjoy our self-guided Winter Freeding Frenzy trail; use the clues to find six special bird feeders to discover what birds eat and how you can attract them to your garden.  Free with paid admission to the Centre.
