Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens near Newcastle in Northumberland are offering a fantastic opportunity to all budding zoo keepers over the half term week.
Zoo Club runs from Monday 29th May to Friday 2nd June and is suitable for two age ranges – 5 to 8 year old and 9 to 15 year olds. A whole week of events promises to bring out the inner zoo keeper in your child with different activities on offer each day. Zoo Club can be booked for one or all five days and costs £30 per session, with lunch included.
Kirkley Hall boasts over 130 species of animals, reptiles and birds including alpacas, armadillos, marmosets, wallabies, snakes and lizards as well as smaller domestic animals as part of its petting zoo. A member BIAZA, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the zoo was set up in 2011 as an educational training facility for Animal Care students at Northumberland College, before going on to become a hugely popular tourist attraction and conservation centre.
