Kirkely Hall Zoological Gardens in Northumberland is offering budding young zoo keepers a fantastic opportunity this half term holiday.
Running from Monday 12th to Friday 16th February, Zoo Club offers kids aged 5 to 15 the chance to go behind the scenes and experience zoo keeping first hand.
With different animals to look after each day, from reptiles and primates to rabbits and exotics, kids will be able to get involved in the running of Kirkley and help zoo keepers complete their daily tasks.
On arrival junior keepers will receive a health and a safety briefing before going on a guided tour of the zoo. They will then join the big zoo keepers on their rounds, feeding the animals and carrying out important health checks and cleaning out enclosures.
After lunch, a full afternoon of themed activities based on animals met during the day will be available, together with a conservation mission for each of the young keepers to complete.
Kirkley Hall Zoo Club runs 10am to 4pm and costs £30 per day per child. For further information and to book go to http://www.kirkleyhallzoo.co.uk/events/zoo-club/
