The Wildlife Trusts’ annual nature challenge is back for its 5th year and promises to be wilder than ever! Last year, over 350,000 people took part in 30 Days Wild, all pledging to experience nature every day during June.
Those signing up to the challenge this year will receive a free pack of inspirational ideas to help them enjoy nature on their doorstep. This includes an activity-filled pull-out featuring ‘101 Random Acts of Wildness’, a packet of wildflower seeds to sow in the garden or window box – brilliant for bees – a wall chart to make memories of this extraordinary month, and stickers to share with family and friends.
This year’s Big Wild Weekend will take place between 15th and 16th of June, right in the middle of 30 Days Wild, with Wildlife Trusts across the UK offering a huge array of nature-tastic events. Last year a dusk-to-dawn expedition went on the prowl for owls, glow worms, nightjars and stars. Marine litter was transformed into art, and there was even pond dipping for grown-ups.
Alongside 30 Days Wild, Wildside Festival will be staged at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s Woodside Farm in Shipley on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of June. Experience nature vibes, with music, art, wild activities and good food and drink, all within 10 miles of Derby and Nottingham.
