We tried the ORIJEN Kitten food, specifically formulated for kittens and packed with high-quality ingredients that help support their health and development. The first five ingredients, like the rest of the ORIJEN line-up, are always fresh or raw, providing a biologically appropriate science-based diet created by pet nutritionists and a veterinarian, drawn from the ancestral diets of cats.
The food features 90% quality animal ingredients including chicken, salmon and turkey to ensure muscle and brain development and cognitive function is maintained throughout a kitten’s early years. This is gained from muscle meat, organs, bones and tender parts of the prey, along with the naturally occurring DHA and EPA from salmon, mackerel, herring and pollock oil. It also contains a specially designed smaller kibble size that supports the digestive system along with the infusion of natural prebiotics, such as dried chicory root and fibre from a variety of fruits and vegetables.
It’s important to transition kittens slowly onto the new food to avoid an upset stomach, and Mack and Mabel had no trouble getting used to their more nutritious diet, eventually needing only ORIJEN Kitten rather than a mix of wet and dry foods; they now come running when they hear the crinkle of the packet calling!
