The penguin enclosure is not the only thing that is freezing at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham, as it has frozen its prices for schools and groups for all visits before April 2016. This will see the attraction continue to offer a great value for money day out.
A visit to the underwater attraction is just as educational as it is fun, and the experienced team of aquarists make sure pupils get right up-close to the amazing creatures in the themed displays, as after all, the more children see, the more they will learn.
Some highlights of a visit to The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham include a spectacular walk through the 360 degree ocean tunnel, feeding demonstrations and talks from staff and a chance to touch a starfish at the rock pool. Not to mention the 2,000 creatures that take up residence at the centre, including sharks, otters, rays and the Giant Green See Turtle, Molokai.
School packages range from Early Years (3-5) to Primary School (6-11) and both include self-guided learning, which consists of four different topics: Habitats & Adaptions, Food Chains & Ecosystems, Behaviour and Conservation. A visit to the underwater attraction has been designed to support several core elements for the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2. Also, the early years programme gives young children a fun and memorable experience that helps them to ‘understand the world’ – one of the four learning and development requirements of the Department for Education Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. All sessions include a complimentary lunch room, which must be booked seven days in advance of the visit.
