A photograph of two mice fighting over crumbs on a tube station platform has been voted the winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 55 LUMIX People’s Choice Award.
Station Squabble was captured by wildlife photographer Sam Rowley who waited patiently for five nights on the grubby station floor in order to capture the perfect photo.
The winning image was one of 25 shortlisted from the 48,000 who entered into the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
Sam says, ‘I am so pleased to win this award. It’s been a lifetime dream to succeed in this competition in this way, with such a relatable photo taken in such an everyday environment in my hometown. I hope it shows people the unexpected drama found in the most familiar of urban environments.’
Visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London until 31st May 2020.
