ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Owen Deutsch had a 20-year career as a fashion photographer before being introduced to birding by a close friend in 2002, who asked for some help with his bird photography. A whole new world opened up to him, and he was hooked! He was back in the beauty business again, but this time it was birds, butterflies, and all the magnificent creatures of nature in front of his lens.
In between trips all over the world in pursuit of his passion, Deutsch updates his extensive website (https://owendeutsch.com/) and his popular Facebook and Instagram pages to share his love of birds with friends. He is also the author of award-winning Bringing Back The Birds (published in 2019).
Michael J. Parr is the President of the American Bird Conservancy, an organisation dedicated to protecting wild birds and their habitats throughout the Americas.
He has been a birder since he was seven years old, and has worked in bird conservation since 1989. He joined American Bird Conservancy (ABC) in 1996 after graduating from the University of East Anglia and working for BirdLife International, and became President of ABC in 2017. He is also the chair of the Alliance for Zero Extinction.
