Spring is a busy time of year for the team at RZSS Edinburgh Zoo who have been hard at work preparing for the start of the Gentoo penguin breeding season.
Earlier this week, keepers from the wildlife conservation charity placed nest rings and pebbles in the zoo’s iconic Penguins Rock area.
Gentoo penguin pairs will now collect as many pebbles as possible, or pinch from other couples, for their nest rings, where the females will lay their eggs later this month.
