In this video, Discover Animals’ Geoff Moore talks to Daphne Brace of Exmoor Wildlife Safaris about spotting red deer, Highland cows and the iconic Exmoor pony, which is allegedly rarer than the giant panda, on a wildlife safari.
He also explores the bird life, which includes white-tailed eagles, red kites, harriers, kestrels, skylarks and green woodpeckers.
Tours offered include a 3-hour wildlife safari or a whole-day, 7-hour trip which includes visiting a pub or tea room for lunch, with different sights to see depending on the season.
October is a great time to visit as it is rutting season, so you can view the majestic red deer stags with their impressive antlers.
