Remembering African Wild Dogs is the sixth book in the highly acclaimed Remembering Wildlife series of fundraising books and is a beautiful addition to the collection.
Created by British wildlife photographer Margot Raggett to raise awareness for one of the most endangered mammals on the planet, more than 80 of the world’s top wildlife photographers have generously donated images to the book to help protect Africa’s wild dogs.
Remembering African Wild Dogs is a stunning book filled with beautiful, evocative photographs offering a rare glimpse into the life of the elusive ‘painted dog’ (as they are also known).
The full-colour images in this large, hardback book bring to life the magnificence of this beautiful pack creature – with its striking, uniquely patterned coat – as we learn more about this charismatic yet little-known animal over 144 stunning pages.
In the last fifty years, habitat loss and misunderstanding have reduced the population of the African Wild Dog from 500,000 to just 6,600, meaning we are in danger of losing this one-of-a-kind carnivore and its hauntingly beautiful hoo-calls for good.
The aim of the book is to demystify painted dogs, raise awareness of their plight and also to raise funds to protect them. All proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to projects that work to protect African wild dogs in their natural habitat.
