The popularity of seeing majestic African lions has been highlighted by the winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, currently running until 30th August 2015 at the Natural History Museum and celebrating its 50th year this year. The exhibition combines the extraordinary work of talented professional and gifted amateur photographers from around the globe to showcase the beauty, magnificence and diversity of life on our planet, while also highlighting its fragility and the role photography can play in preserving it. Michael ‘Nick’ Nichols of the USA was the Grand Title Winner with his image of lions of the Vumbi pride in Tanzania.
You can see lions from the Serengeti at many attractions around the UK including ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, which has its very own Lions of the Serengeti exhibit, and in Kingdom of the Carnivores at Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire.
If you’d like to see lions in the wild, operators such as Naturetrek and The Adventure Travel Company travel to Tanzania.
