Take on the Ultimate Animal Challenge at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo!

Three children take on the Ultimate Animal Challenge at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

This summer, take on the Ultimate Animal Challenge at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire and go head-to-head with your friends and family to find out who’s the real leader of the pack!

Until 4th September, follow the Ultimate Animal Challenge trail around the zoo, testing your skills against the best of the best in a number of fun challenges. Find out if your family has what it takes to solve a puzzle as fast as a chimp, or sneak up on prey like a tiger. Discover which members of your family have the memory of an elephant and see how quickly you can dig for scorpions like a meerkat.

Once you have conquered the four animal challenges, head back to the Events Hub for the Ultimate Showdown, where your speedy, foraging skills will be put to the test on a giant inflatable. The aim is to collect colourful balls faster than your competitors, while not getting bounced off your path!

Families who would prefer an accessible final round can instead take part in the Ultimate Face-Off Challenge, in which each family has a race against time to forage for and assemble puzzle pieces to reveal a hidden animal. You can also create your own animal playing piece out of clay and then use it to beat your family members at a selection of animal board games.

Free with zoo entry tickets, the Ultimate Animal Challenge will give families the golden opportunity to team up, have fun together and take on other ‘packs’ at the zoo that day! All this, plus face painting, delicious food and drink and fascinating animal talks about the special skills of the zoo’s species. There’s even a zoo-tastic prize for the family who is top of the leader board at the end of the summer.

Best known for its colossal beasts that graze enormous enclosures, like the zoo’s herd of Asian elephants and two species of rhinoceros, the conservation zoo is home to 10,000 animals, from leaping lemurs to adorable otters.  Summer visitors will be able to see some of the zoo’s recent additions, including male lion Khari and three young cheetahs.

Experience a champion day out with the whole family during the school holidays. Book your tickets here.
