Postcards from Fregate Island: the Giant Tortoise census

In one of our series of wildlife films from the beautiful Fregate Island in the Seychelles, Geoff Moore talks to Conservation Team Member Han Van Der Sandes about how he tracks the island’s famous Giant Tortoises, which numbered over 2,000 at the last count.

Fregate Island is home to the second largest giant tortoise population in the world – after the Aldabra atoll – and the census takes place annually, with guests often participating to help out.
