Garden centre retailer Dobbies – along with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society – is encouraging people to think sustainably this Christmas, and has encouraged shoppers buying real trees to think ahead about how they can recycle their Christmas centrepiece once the festivities are over.
Sanctuary, a Worcester-based housing and care provider, has pledged to help local wildlife by installing hedgehog-sized holes in the garden fences of all its new homes. The ‘Hedgehog Highways’ will link gardens with neighbouring plots and other green spaces, allowing hedgehogs and other small wildlife to roam freely.

Hedgehog Street, a nationwide campaign launched by wildlife charities People’s Trust for Endangered Species and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. To mark the occasion Hedgehog Street is asking members of the public to do 10 things to help hedgehogs in 2021.
