The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has announced the birth of a tiny polar bear cub at Highland Wildlife Park, near Aviemore. The Berlin Zoological Garden is the oldest and best known zoo in Germany. Opened in 1844 it covers 34 hectares (84 acres) and is located in Berlin’s Tiergarten. With about 1,500 different species and almost 20,500 animals the zoo presents the most comprehensive collection of species in the world.
Large carnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Arctic Circle. Large furry feet and claws give them good traction on ice.
At the Highland Wildlife Park visitors can discover animals native to Scotland as well as endangered species from the world’s mountains and tundra in a spectacular setting. Based in the Cairngorms National Park, the park is home over 200 animals from red pandas to grey wolves and the UK’s only polar bear.
